In this role Naomi is a member of the executive providing expert advice, leadership and strategic direction in regard to statewide legislation, policy and programs for medicines and health technologies to ensure the best possible health outcomes for all South Australians.
In this role she leads the development and implementation of statewide governance frameworks to promote timely adoption of evidenced-based innovations and equity of access to high cost health technologies shown to be safe, effective and cost-effective. This includes foundational priorities for sustainable and data driven-systems, ensuring patient safety across care settings; evidenced based decision making and shared care; outcome assessment including patient reported outcomes; and new models of care for workforce efficiency.
In more recent times, the work has focussed on developing and implementing statewide strategies to address the COVID-19 pandemic including maintaining access to medicines and pharmacy services and the vaccine roll out.
Her background is in hospital pharmacy with over 30 years’ experience in a wide range of settings including executive and senior management, research and teaching roles within the public hospital, state government and university settings, and as a consultant in the private sector. She enjoys ongoing contributions at both state and national levels in leading strategy development and ensuring outcomes in key areas of health care.
Work life balance is an ongoing challenge for us all – my interests include keeping fit through cycling and bushwalking, water sports, travelling (usually !) including outback exploring, food and wine appreciation , enjoying time with friends and family and; currently supporting my son through his final year of high school whilst keeping up with his many sporting commitments.
