Stephen is the Innovations Manager for the Medical Device Partnering Program, a guest lecturer at Flinders University for the topic of Innovation in Medical Devices and a member of the Steering Committee for the Bridgetech Program. Amongst other roles, Stephen has previously worked for the Health and Medical Industries team at the Government of South Australia’s Department for Trade and Investment and for South Australian medical device cluster organisation MedTEC South Australia. In 2018, Stephen led the South Australian Health and Life Sciences trade mission to China, leading 11 companies to 5 cities and delivery a keynote speech on South Australia as an investment destination. Stephen started his career a mechanical design engineer and has previously worked for medical device companies in Australia and the UK. He has worked on a variety of devices from Deep Brain Stimulation to ophthalmic devices and laparoscopic surgical equipment. Stephen is the first point of contact for MDPP applicants, assessing the viability of new ideas, guiding them through the process and connecting them with the right expertise.
